Fire Evacuation
This one day comprehensive course has been specifically designed with fire officers to provide managers and supervisors with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It is particularly relevant to those employed in:
- Care homes
- Public sector services
- Private care agencies
This is a practical course during which participants will be invited to carry out risk assessments and devise an emergency plan. There will be opportunities to see a range of evacuation equipment and to practise a number of evacuation techniques.
Between them the Fire Regulations and Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992 (as amended) require managers/supervisors of care services to be able to:
- Carry out a fire risk assessment of their workplace
- Identify significant findings of the risk assessment and details of anyone who may be especially at risk in case of fire
- Provide and maintain such fire precautions as are necessary to safeguard those who use the workplace
- Provide information, instruction and training to employees about the fire precautions in their workplace.
