- Legislation and the fire assessment
- Fire risk assessment
- The emergency fire plan
- The science of smoke and fire
- Fire suppression â€" extinguishers, fixed installations
- Types of fire and methods of extinguishing (theory and practical session)
- Evacuation â€" employees, visitors and people with disabilities
- Fire hazard identification and reduction
- Paperwork and procedures
- Fire notices and signs
Suitability
All staff members wishing to take on the role of fire marshal/warden. No previous qualifications required, health & safety experience would be of use but not essential.
This course outline can be adapted to meet the needs of an organisation, department or team. Details and prices are available on request.
Assessment
All delegates will be continually assessed during the course by the trainer.
All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance from City College, Coventry. This will be issued on successful completion of the course.
