Background to the Course

Fire Safety Awareness within the workplace is critical; the consequences of an outbreak of fire can be disastrous. Yet fires can be prevented, or their effects minimised, particularly if everyone at work has an awareness of fire safety and those with added responsibility implement and maintain appropriate systems, preventative measures and adequate emergency procedures.

This one day course provides an overview of fire safety, with a particular focus on the causes, consequences, precautions and emergency procedures.

By the end of the course those attending will have an increased awareness of fire safety and be well equipped to ensure the risk to them, their colleagues and the business are reduced to the absolute minimum.

Course Structure and Delivery Methods

The course is interactive and as well as short lectures and case studies, there will be plenty of examples of hazards in a variety of working environments and practical guidance on preventative measures.

Course members will undertake a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the course to test their learning. Those successful will be awarded the EPIC Certificate of Achievement, which is a useful addition to their training record and a component of proof of competence.
