First Aid at Work Award - Level 3

First Aid at Work

Registered with Qualsafe Awards (an organisation recognised by Ofqual) this course is for those who are First Aiders @ Work. The course will give you the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose and treat injuries and illness whilst maintaining care and support for the casualty. Certificate valid for three years.

• Complies with the current Health and Safety Regulations
• Delegates must wear comfortable clothing and footwear

On successful completion of the syllabus each Candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are able to:

• Act safely, promptly, and effectively with the emergencies at work.
• Use First Aid equipment, including the contents of a First Aid container.
• Understand the duties of employers and the legal framework.
• Maintain simple factual records on the treatment or management of emergencies. Recognise the importance of hygiene in First Aid procedure.

Candidates must also be able to deal with a casualty who:

• Requires cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Is unconscious
• Is bleeding or wounded
• Is suffering from shock
• Is suffering an injury to bones, muscles or joints
• Has been burned or scalded
• Has an eye injury
• Has been overcome by fire or fumes
• Has been poisoned or exposed to harmful substances
• Candidates should be able to recognise minor illness
• Candidates should be able to recognise major illness
• Manage casualty transportation as required by workplace circumstances.

First Aid at Work Re-Qualification

Registered with Qualsafe Awards (an organisation recognised by Ofqual) this course is for those who wish to renew their qualification. Certificate valid for three years.

• 100% attendance is required
• Delegates must wear comfortable clothing/footwear
