First Aid at Work

Course overview This three day course is suitable for all companies, particularly those with a large number of staff or working in a high risk environment. The course will cover: the principles of first aid, the role of the first aider, communicating with a casualty, minor conditions including minor cuts and grazes, bruises, small splinters, contents of a first aid kit, reporting and aftercare, blood loss and shock, burns and scalds, eye injuries, fractures and dislocations, including spinal injuries, sprains and strains, causes of unconsciousness and the recovery position. In addition the course will cover a practical guide to major conditions including: diabetes, seizures, asthma, heart attack, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, choking, stroke, sudden poisoning and anaphylactic shock.
