First aid is a potentially life-saving skill, and this First Aid at Work Course aims to teach you the basics of recognising danger and reacting appropriately.
The course begins with an introduction to first aid, which provides you with knowledge on regulations, statistics and what to keep in your first aid box. It then looks at the primary and secondary surveys, providing you with the information you need to assess a person’s injuries, place them in the recovery position and apply bandages if necessary.

About this course
You will then learn how to treat a variety of injuries, illnesses and conditions. These range from secondary injuries such as burns and scalds, eye and head injuries and broken bones, to asthma, allergic reactions, diabetes, heart attacks, hyperventilation, poisoning and drowning. Epilepsy, strokes, nosebleeds and sprains are also covered. You will also be taught how to administer CPR for adults, children and infants.
You never know when first aid skills may be required, but with this course, you will at least feel prepared and confident should a situation arise.
The First Aid at Work is open to all, with no formal entry requirements. All you need is a passion for learning, a good understanding of the English language, numeracy and IT, and to be over the age of 16.
Upon successful completion, you will qualify for the UK and internationally-recognised professional qualification and you can choose to make your achievement formal by obtaining your PDF Certificate at a cost of £9 and Hardcopy Certificate for £15.
