Why not give yourself a lovely new hobby for life. This course is designed as an introduction to game fishing. It comprises of a classroom session, talks and discussions and a pracical day on the water. Topics include what tackle to buy, with a guide to prices, basic knot tying, introduction to fly tying and demonstrations, advice and practice of basic casting. Fishing etiquette, water safety and the legal aspects of the sport are also covered.

Additional Information

Attendance at a local fishery is part of this course, usually on the second day, where you will be able to carry out the practical element of the tuition. There are options as to which one is used but it is expected that this will be no further than 15 miles from the College and candidates will be expected to use their own transport to get there.

There will also be an additional fee for this which is not included in the course fee and payable directly by each candidate to the fishery owners. This is to cover the time spent fishing and an agreed catch allowance.

This is expected to be in the region of £15 - 20
