This is your chance to start out on that rewarding career by joining West Lothian College on our Foundation Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering. Employers are telling us that there will be excellent opportunities for skilled civil engineers well into the future.

We are planning to introduce you to the world of civil engineering to give you a chance to see where your skills are, and then to develop them. You will also gain an insight into how the Industry works, and the range of opportunities contained within it. You could be working in areas such as Motorway Design and Construction, Water Supply and Treatment and Bridge Building.

The course will start in August 2015 and will continue until July 2017. Attendance on the course will be for 2 afternoons per week during the School year, with possible opportunities for work experience being available. You will also be expected to work during some of your Holiday time.

Since civil engineering is suitable for girls as well as boys, we are particularly interested in recruiting girls onto the course.

With a vibrant, modern and innovative learning environment, the College is well equipped to ensure that students have the best facilities and resources to help develop their learning and skills. The College is an essential provider of a vast range of courses all focused on developing relevant skills for employment and to enhance current career prospects for those who are already working. For 2016-17 it was established that 86% of HN graduates at the College progressed into employment or further study.
