Foundation Degree in Accounting and Financial Management

Course summary:
This part-time two year programme is an exciting opportunity for people with financial management experience to gain an Accountancy qualification, while still working.

Course content:
Offered one day per week, the course will give you an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 4 qualification in year 1, leading to an NVQ level 4.

In your second year you will study two days per month and further Foundation Degree modules in general management and personal development are studied.

Assessment procedure:
The course includes both work based assessments and examinations.

Progression opportunities:
The most appropriate progression route for graduates from this programme remains under review, but it is likely that the University will be able to offer a choice of progression to two separate Honours Degree programmes.
The BA (Honours) Degree in Applied Management offers an appropriate vehicle for progression, given the work-based nature and content of the Foundation Degree in Accountancy and Management.
Another opportunity open, subject to validation, is a BA (Honours) Degree in Professional Practice.
