Who is this course for?
The Foundation Degree in Applied and Medical Sciences will provide vocationally relevant science education for those wishing to follow careers in applied and medical sciences; producing competent individuals to meet local, regional and national needs.

3 years part time (including placement).

How will I be assessed?
Learning and Teaching Methods:
Lectures, tutorials, seminars and presentations, practical sessions (involving independent and team work), workbased learning and case studies, self-directed learning employing computer-aided learning.

ASSESSMENT METHODS:
Written examinations and class tests. Coursework including presentations, problem-solving, laboratory and reports from work-based learning.

What can I do after the course?

This is a new course offered in conjunction with the University of Ulster and is an innovative programme designed to provide students with the necessary high-level skills needed to gain employment in the fast growing sector.

Students successfully completing the proposed foundation degree programme will be able to progress on to courses in the areas of biology, biomedical sciences, biotechnology, pharmacology, food and nutrition, and human nutrition and dietetics. Progression is available to the University of Ulster but students will also be able to take their qualification to other HE institutions
