Who is this course for?
This course is for those who work in the IT technical support service or the expanding web development and e-business sectors. It develops valuable knowledge and skills that are in demand by all employers seeking capable staff with high level IT computing skills. Upon completion some students have also set up their own business. The course includes a study of software and web application development, effective multimedia design, video production, computer systems, networking, e-business and databases. All students will also complete a final year group project in their area of interest. Applicants will have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant area or appropriate knowledge and experience. The course will enhance career prospects within the IT sector, or can be used as the basis for further study, for example, students may upon completion apply to study the BSc Honours degree in Applied Computing at Sheffield Hallam University. You must have passed a relevant level 3 qualification. Mature entry also considered.
