The Programme
This programme combines the disciplines of both Business and Computing and is designed to teach students how to:
Apply the fundamental concepts of business computer systems.
Appreciate the relationship between the knowledge and understanding of business computing theory.
Critically evaluate solutions to business/computing related problems.
Appreciate and understand the need for creativity during the design of Business Computer solutions.
Work effectively within a group.
Communicate orally and through the written word.
The Programme Content
During the course students will study a number of Business and Computing modules including Web Design and Development; Managing Human Resources; Business Communication Skills (Tools and Usage); Business Finance; Marketing Fundamentals and eCommerce.

Students will be assessed in a variety of ways: written assignments, examinations, individual and group presentations and research projects.
Entry Requirements
Mode of Study
Full time two years.
Part time three years.
Costs
Students will be required to purchase their own USB memory sticks and will need to purchase their own texts for the course.
There will also be a small fee charged for photocopying.
Progression Careers
Students who successfully complete the FdA Business Computing can progress either to the BA (Hons) in Business Administration or the BSc (Hons) in Business Information Management Systems (BIMS) provided that the student completes the Level 2 placement year. Finding a placement would be the responsibility of the student but the University would provide assistance, guidance and support.
