The course is franchised from the University of South Wales and is aimed at people who are qualified and / or experienced early years practitioners. It gives practitioners an opportunity to extend their knowledge, reflect on practice, and take a step into higher education
It is an academic, vocational course in which work-based learning is an integral component.
You will require at least 1 A Level with 3 GCSEs at A*- C in academic subjects with English or equivalent desirable. Or an Access Certificate, Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Childcare or BTEC National Diploma in Early Years or Social Care. Accreditation of prior achievement (qualifications or experience) may provide exemptions against certain elements of the programme of study. You will need to be employed professionally or voluntarily in a childcare or education setting for at least 12 hours per week.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required. At interview, you will be asked to provide evidence that your employer has given approval for your participation in this programme, and that a work place facilitator will be identified to support you.
