This is a two-year programme designed to give students a broad range of knowledge and experience in the areas of English and History.
Foundation Degrees combine academic study with work-based learning. The educational aim of the programme is to facilitate acquisition of appropriate knowledge and understanding and the development of the necessary personal attributes.
In addition students will master the essential skills which will equip and prepare them for continuing personal development, academic study and professional training.

About this course
Having achieved 240 credits and completed the FD English and History award, students may progress onto the final year of courses at University of South Wales including the BA (Hons) English and History
A typical offer is:
A Level = DD
BTEC L3 Extended Diploma = MP or PPP
Access = Pass
Other qualifications may be considered. All non-standard applications are referred to the course leader for approval.

The Foundation Degree in English and History prepares students for careers in areas including: teaching; law; research; accountancy; journalism; administration; information management; marketing; sales and advertising; business and finance; social welfare; the media, educational work in schools/museums.
The work based element of the programme will have a local focus e.g. working with local history societies.
