Course summary:
Lifestyle in contemporary living is now far more than a means of fulfilling our functional needs.

People today have a greater need for emotional, sensual and expressive experiences, in which the goods and services they consume from food to technology play an essential role.

Packaging and brand designers create an environment and visual identity for a wide range of products, services and companies which are memorable, live up to the expectations contained in the customer†s mind and fight for recognition in an extremely competitive consumer market.

If you are creative and would enjoy a career designing packaging and brand identities that communicate to a universal market where millions of people could sample your creativity every day, then this is the course for you.

Course content:
The most important feature of the Foundation Degree in Packaging Design & Branding course is design practice, structured to create a programme of work which will offer practical experience and detailed knowledge of the design processes used in the Packaging Design and Brand Identity design industries.

The course equips you with the critical, creative, analytical and technical skills to gain employment as packaging designers, brand identity designers and general graphic designers with top design consultancies, packaging companies and manufacturers.

The College maintains close working links with major national and international design consultancies,
packaging specialists and manufacturers who underpin the professional work based learning throughout the course with live projects and the offer of work placements.

The programme is delivered through lecturers, demonstrations, practical work, individual and group projects and work based learning.

Cross discipline working links are made with other courses to encourage cross fertilisation of ideas.
