A Foundation Degree in Small Business (Salon) Management at Leek College will give you the essential skills to start or develop a salon. It's a two-year part time course that meets industry standards and can make an immediate impact on your work and your job prospects.
Course Content
This Foundation Degree has been designed for individuals who are currently employed within the Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy or Complementary Therapy industry. The course provides essential management skills to help you start or develop a salon. The programme of study places emphasis on work based learning and addresses the skills gap identified by Habia who set the sector†s standards. New ideas and concepts can be taken back to the workplace to take an immediate and direct impact on the work you do and your job prospects

Entry Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Hairdressing,Beauty Therapy or Holistic Therapy
• Advanced Apprenticeship in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy
• Vocationally Relevant Qualifications (VRQs) in Reflexology, Aromatherapy or Body Massage

It is assumed: Full time students are working in a salon for at least 2 days per week (or 500 hours per year), whether paid or voluntary; or, part time students are working in a salon full time.
Duration
2 years, part time.
One whole day per week between 9.00am and 4.00pm.
