Course Description
This new and exciting course is aimed at those who wish to further their career prospects and gain qualifications in the sports coaching and performance areas. It is based around CORE modules which are closely related to work-based experience and relevant work qualifications.

Nutrition of Sport 20 credits
Coaching Principles 20 credits
Sports Development 20 credits
Sport Psychology 30 credits
Physiology of Exercise 20 credits
Biomechanics of Sport 10 credits
Work-Based Modules 60 credits

Career Prospects
The course aims to provide a platform for vocational and academic development in sport, with potential to career progression within coaching or onto further study. At the end of the course the learner may wish to leave with a Foundation Degree. There are, however, further options that might be considered:
After completion of a bridging module, progress to the third year of a degree in sports studies/science at the University of Glamorgan
Progress to an alternative sports studies/science degree course
NPTC has a well-established reputation for delivering high quality Higher Education courses. The course will be based at Llandarcy Park Academy and the Neath Campus. The Llandarcy Campus, a purpose-built centre for sporting excellence, is easily accessible via Junction 43 from the M4 motorway.
