a number of degree courses at the University of Worcester. Although the University of Worcester is the natural progression pathway other universities across the UK and beyond will accept the qualification as an entry requirement. Course Modules Year One Modules:



Investigative Techniques

This module helps students make sense of data using qualitative and quantitative methods for collection. Students will learn the skills for presenting and analysing data for customers.



Sports Coaching with Psychology

This module provides an introduction to selected theoretical aspects of sports coaching and the coaching process. The module studies the fundamentals of coaching practice involving session planning, coaching methods, differentiation strategies, evaluation and reflection processes.



Outdoor Leadership

This module will provide you with the opportunity to explore the needs of outdoor leadership including outdoor activity user groups, role of the providers and the structures required for partnerships to function effectively. Learners will also develop their knowledge of safety issues related to the ever growing risks associated with outdoor activities.



Sport and Leisure in a Modern Context

This module provides an introduction to the social and cultural study of sport. It introduces key areas of study and develops an understanding that sport is not experienced the same way by everyone; some individuals and groups in society get not only more, but significantly different opportunities than others....

Course overview Would you like a career in a dynamic and inspiring industry? You may already be working and eager to climb the career ladder or new to sport and about to begin your journey. Either way, our Foundation Degree Sports Leadership and Management will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge you need to kick-start your dream career in sport. You will study a variety of subjects such as Sports Tourism, Sports Marketing, Event Management, Outdoor Leadership and Practical Coaching. You will also complete Work Based Activities and Event Management, where you will have the opportunity to plan and run a local event within a financial budget. You will be required to proactively gain work experience in the sports industry with a minimum placement requirement of 100 hrs, however all students are encouraged to develop industry based experience throughout the course. Entry requirements You will need a minimum of 48 UCAS points to apply for the course. English and maths at GCSE grade C are also recommended. Mature applicants with other qualifications or non-formal qualifications are welcome to apply and will be assessed on an individual basis.
