Prospective students will need to have achieved one of the following qualifications: BDS Adv Nat Diploma in Retail Display, Point of Sale Advertising/Graphics, Pre-degree Foundation Art and Design,BTEC National in Interior Design etc, AVCE Double Award in Art and Design. A levels in design related subjects. Prior learning and industry experience also considered.

What will I study?
The course offers an introduction to a wide range of skills and knowledge in Visual Merchandising, Prop Making, Model Making, Package Design and Promotional Design. In addition, the course will include a placement in industry. The Foundation Degree in Visual Merchandising and Promotional Design will equip students with the skills to apply solutions intelligently and effectively. Students will develop a number of computer design skills by using Auto Cad, Photoshop and Illustrator.
How can I progress?
It may be possible to progress on to the final year of the BA (Hons) Interior Design course, BA (Hons) Fashion Promotions, BA (Hons) Graphic Design, BA (Hons) Advertising at the University of Central Lancashire (a bridge module may be required). Alternatively, employment within design fields such as visual merchandising, graphic design, theatre design, interior design, exhibition design or packaging design.
