Foundation Degree Wildlife Conservation and Ecology

Introduction
This course has been specially designed for students aiming for a career in animal conservation.
It provides a combination of academic study, with hands-on training and experience in animal conservation.
Students will gain a broad base of knowledge and skills such as radio tracking, species identification, live trapping techniques, animal first aid, reintroduction to natural habitat, wildlife documentary, photography and film production, biodiversity and bushcraft.
You will have regular contact with animals in our fully licensed zoo and work in the field will expand your knowledge of wild animal behaviour and conservation. You will also benefit from our new laboratory and training facilities and enjoy off-site visits and optional international study tours.

Length of the course


  • Full-time, 2 years includes an 8 week work placement.

  • Part-time up to 3 years for those working in the industry. Modules are offered either by blended learning or distance learning. Individual modules can be studied for Continuing Professional Development
