Foundation - Theatre

PRESENTATION

This broad-based course provides basic, introductory training in acting, voice and movement, stage management, writing for theatre and stage design. It is aimed at students with less experience.

The course enables the student to gain practical experience and skills in a wide range of disciplines before attending drama school or university. It is also suitable for those seeking a career change or who wish to learn more about theatre and its disciplines.

Classes are given in audition technique with advice and information on applying to and preparing for drama school.

The course is full-time, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend class and is taught by the LAMDA Faculty. It includes visits to galleries, museums, theatre productions and a 3 day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon to expand students' cultural awareness.

Now in its 12th year, the course is well-established and has an excellent reputation within the industry. On completion of the course, students have gone on to drama school - including LAMDA, RADA, Bristol, Guildhall, the Drama Centre, Central and ALRA - to university and to directing, drama criticism and writing for theatre.

ADMISSION
Admission to the course is by audition or interview dependent on the applicant's experience and career intent.

Selected applicants are recalled for a workshop session in London.
