What I would highlight: Looking at the opportunities and the colleges, I was thinking about Beijing and Shangai. And Shangai is definitely the business town. The top one in Shangai is definitely Fudan. One of the good opportunities in Fudan that I have is applying for a second degree program option with MIT and Yale, the best renowned universities in the world. Both of them are advanced management programs, it is all catered to only partner schools as Fudan. Fudan has five global iLab projects and also local iLab projects. So, fortunately, I got through this global project with Wharton Executive MBA students. I’m doing consulting work with a U.S. based company, looking for a Chinese market entry. It’s quite an experience still now for me and the learning is tremendous. And we have a mentor from the U.S. who has been a consultant for twenty four years now. One of the things that will stand out from my study period till now in Fudan, I would say is organizing this event called Hulk Prize at Fudan University. This particular event gives a scope for the winners to set up their own social ventures. I wanted to bring it to Fudan, and then I applied for the campus director position and I got through it after rounds of interviews. And then recruited my organization team comprising of marketing, operations and logistics. We put together this event and we had very good support from the program office to take it forward. We had twenty five teams participating in this event, and we had one winner who was going to compete in regional finals. I would say the foremost challenge I came across here is the language, then the food. In terms of language, I came here and had a basic Chinese course as a part of my program. It helped me to get around the town, talk to the taxi drivers, order food at the restaurants or go buy something. So it helped me a lot. For me, in Fudan, one of the best things is the people here, both in the office and my fellow classmates. They have been supportive and helpful and as an international student, I find the connect very easily with them and they go out of their way to help whatever it may be. We had quite a few trips. The school also organized a buddy program. Fudan School of Management gives you the opportunity to do anything and everything, so you can expect a lot of support from the people here and then you can just try whatever ideas you have and put through it. By some how you will get what you wanted and you will be able to achieve it here.

What I would highlight: I love Shangai because I think it’s the future of China. It will help me and my son as well to see how China will develop in the future. Just before I came here I was the executive secretary of my company’s CEO. My company is LG Electronics. Actually, they gave me a chance with a sponsorship to come to Fudan and study, they gave me an option, whether it could be a school in the States or it could be a school in China. Because Shangai is the center of Asian economy, I chose Shangai. So I went through the program I researched and I say it had a joint program with MIT, a top school. And then I also saw a course called iLab which is a program that our students group up as a team and make a consulting with a company that needs it. Currently, I am in a China local iLad which I self generated. That means we have a chance to pick a company or an industry we are much interested in and apply the studies we have learned from school. The process would be exactly the same as if a consulting company would come up to a company and pitch themselves. First, we show them a proposal. Then we get approval from the company and later it is mutual decision discussions and opinion exchanges. And then we have to research the market very heavily. At this point we try to utilize our CDO mentors, also the alumni, and after getting the market intelligence, we try to drive our strategies for the company. After seeing the curriculum, knowing that it perfectly matched and it was over my expectations, then I had to go to an online application process. Which was mainly focusing on writing the essays. After the essays, interviews, and I already had a GMAT score, so that was quite a convenient and systematic process to apply. What I want to advice to future applicants is to be yourself in the interview. Not only the interview but the whole process. This will make you unique and it will make you find your genuine self. That would be your strength and the differentiating point that the school will be interested in. After the program I will go back to my company as a business unit head and will be leading a team that will be involving in Chinese B2B market. After that I will be in an executive position, also involving China. The studies that I will learn in Fudan, will be the base and the fundamentals of my career.

What I would highlight: Being in China itself is an adventure. It’s very different from where I come from. And to be, having to adapt to that and having to embrace the culture has been revolutionary to my life. The reason why I chose Fudan is in terms of its global ranking. Speaking to managers at companies here, multinational companies and Canadian companies they all have heard of Fudan. And they knew that if I graduated from there it would help me down the road in my career.

What I would highlight: Many people ask me why I chose to study in China at Fudan and my answer is clear: our economic future is in China. And it’s very interesting and exciting for me to life live in Shangai and get to know Chinese culture, habits and economy. Fudan offered exactly the program I was looking for. In addition to this, it enjoys really good reputation all across China. Outside the classroom my life in Shangai is very exciting. Together with my classmates I discover the city step by step and explore the different city quarters as every area an Shangai is full of contract by each other.

What I would highlight: Before I started my study at Fudan I was working in an investment bank providing service to middle-sized companies on cross-border M&A transactions. When I felt ready to take two years off from work and pursue and MBA, Fudan was my first choice. The curriculum design, faculty, resources, international perspective and local expertise make this program one of the best in Asia.

What I would highlight: I toured the campus before I noticed a very diverse student body and looked at the curriculum and thought it was fabulous rather difficult but also very worthwhile. With Fudan’s orientation program at the beginning of our semester we had several activities which already put us in stressful situations where we had to make crucial decisions. And I realized at this point that it’s possible for me to fail, I can accept this and I can learn from these experiences. This was something that before Fudan I really wasn’t able to do. I chose Shangai because of the business opportunities and also because of the reputation and ability that a degree from Fudan MBA would get me to move on to a better career in the future. In the future I would like to move on to work with a multinational company here in Shangai and perhaps at some point return to the U.S. and work in an executive level position where I can work sort of in between the U.S. and Shangai in some sort of intermediary role.

What I would highlight: There are many reasons influencing my decision to choose Fudan. First, it’s one of the top class educational institutions in China. Secondly, it has a long history and high reputation as a modern international business school. This influenced my decision so much. I think I learned a lot from Fudan. One of the most important things probably is the potential to be cultivated as a highly motivated professional, who is well equipped with fast learning skills and business thinking, active marketing and branding sense, as well as communication and team working spirit. In the future, I want to be an high-level professional elite, with international perspective and local insight who will combine the theoretical knowledge. I learned from Fudan MBA with the local an practical work.

What I would highlight: During college I actually came to Shangai for a month to study abroad just for a short time and I absolutely loved the city. I always knew I wanted to return at some point. In the end, I only applied to one program: Fudan. It just had everything that I was looking for, it was program in an international setting and an international city, and it had both credibility in China as Fudan is an excellent school and by partnering with MIT it was something that in the States would also be recognizable name. The most important thing I learned here was how to work with an international group of people. We had to work through cultural barriers, language barriers, to be able to succeed within this program.

What I would highlight: Fudan is one of top universities in China. So what’s why I chose Fudan University as my priority. Actually the most important thing I’ve learned here is not only the professional knowledge about management, but the improvement of my characters, for examples how to understand other people better, how to communicate with others, or how to welcome all the difficulties that I meet in my life and work. I want to improve my career to a higher level of management in an international company. And in life I want to be a better person, who can be relied on by my family and friends.

What I would highlight: As of my work experience, I have 6 years of technical consulting in an India MNC in IT. As part of my job I have worked in the Middle East and China as well. The key objective in selecting an MBA for me was: one, to understand the international know-how of current businesses; and two, to have a platform where I can do international interaction. Fudan gave me the platform to achieve both my objectives. I was able to understand the Asian businesses very well, I would like to say to any person who wants to study abroad and works in an international company that Fudan is the best choice. It will give you the platform to achieve your objectives.

What I would highlight: Shangai is a very beautiful city and I really love it. I came here before going to the university and chose to stay. I want to work in Asia and in China and Fudan is one of the school that are respected here. I learned a lot about intercultural communication. It’s something I really value, because everybody in my country, I’m from Ukraine, they haven’t really had this much experience, working international environment and here you have a lot of exposure. If you can manage the work with different cultures, especially with Chinese and Korean, you will be able to work with anyone. For Fudan, I would like to say thank you for this great opportunity and for creating this environment where we can all study and develop.
