This course will appeal to applicants who are interested in English Literature and enjoy studying it. It will provide you with an introduction to the traditions of English Literature and help you to view individual texts within a broader literary, cultural and historical context. At AS level you will study at least four texts, covering poetry and prose. Two of these texts will form the basis.

Course Details
This course will appeal to applicants who are interested in English Literature and enjoy studying it. It will provide you with an introduction to the traditions of English Literature and help you to view individual texts within a broader literary, cultural and historical context.
At AS level you will study at least four texts, covering poetry and prose. Two of these texts will form the basis for a place of
independent coursework.
At A2 level you will study a further five texts covering prose, poetry and drama, to include one play by Shakespeare. Two of these texts will form the basis for a piece fo independent coursework.

Entry Requirements:
Progression/Careers: If you choose to do the full A level, you may progress to higher education and take a degree in English or a related Arts or Humanities subject.
Degrees in English are useful in careers such as journalism,
administration, publishing and teaching. The analytical and critical skills you develop during the course will be appreciated by employers and universities.
This course encourages high levels of achievement, with a current pass rate at A2 of 96%.
