Attendance
You are expected to be available to attend college Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

Course Description
This one year course is designed to help learners make the transition from A levels to University study in any of the full range of Art & Design BA†s.

A focused programme of exploration and development leads to the preparation of a portfolio for University entry.

Course Structure
The programme is broken down into three parts, the Exploratory Stage; The Pathway Stage; and the Project stage. Learners will develop their autonomy through the stages and those whose development progresses appropriately may be entered for Level 4 credits.

You will also study Key Skills which include Maths and English.

Course Assessment
The Course is assessed continuously with frequent individual and group tutorials and assessment points at the end of each stage.

Course Entry Requirements

• 5 GCSEs grades A-C and at least one AS Level qualification at Grade A-D.

• All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview
• A portfolio of art work should be presented at interview

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.

Course Progression
Most learners will progress to University in a range of Art & Design Areas, including Fashion, Photography, Graphic Design and Fine Art including degrees offered by Doncaster College

Course Career Prospects
Opportunities exist to enter the Creative Industries at a Junior Level but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including artist, product designer, games designer, picture editor, art valuer, fashion designer.
