Access to Higher Education Diploma - Life Sciences OCN (Full-time)
Summary
Access is a programme designed for adults who wish to enter University, Teaching Hospitals, Higher Education Institutions and colleges. It can also lead onto diplomas or professional training courses. Our Access programmes are validated by TRAC Open College Network and provide a nationally recognised qualification.
About the Course
During the course you will be asked to complete a number of units, which will build a bank of credits. You will need to accumulate 20 credits including 13 at Level 2, four of which must be maths.
If you already have a relevant Maths or It qualification we may be able to credit your prior learning towards the Maths or Information Technology.

What are the entry requirements?
How is the course assessed?
Each unit comprises a number of assignments such as essays, reports, presentations or short tests. You will be given two or three weeks to prepare and complete each assignment. Students pass or fail, with individual references indicating the level of achievment for the benefit of Higher Education admissions.

What facilities can be used on this course?
The course is timetabled within normal school hours 9.40am - 3.15pm, to fit around your family life.
The college offers childcare facilities to meet the needs of students with young children. at ¿Happy Days¿, children receive friendly and informal full or part day care while their parents are in classes. The facility is approved by Social Services and offers a safe and happy environment in which your child can play and learn. Demand is high, so please check availability before you enrol for your course.
You should not lose any benefits from returning to study via the access course as it has less than 16 hours of contact time.
