Access to Higher Education (QAALevel 3) Nursing & Health Professions

What will I be studying?
The course is made up of a number of unit modules graded at Level 2 and Level 3.There are 25 modules and each one will require the completion of an assessed assignment and, in some cases, a satisfactorily completed portfolio. The modules are designed to prepare the candidate for nurse training so are orientated around human physiology, ethics, health promotion, research skills, social psychology and human and legal rights. There are also some key skill modules such as word processing, application of number and communication skills.

All the units are internally set and assessed. There are no external examinations.

What can I do when I have successfully completed the programme?
On successful completion of the course you will be able to apply for a place at university to study for a degree in nursing or other health related subject such as occupational therapy or clinical psychology. The course is also acceptable for entry to social work, environmental health and complementary and alternative medical disciplines requiring graduate entry.

There are no formal educational requirements other than a broad general education, a commitment to succeed and a satisfactory interview. All applicants are interviewed.
