Students might be able to progress to university from this course to study those interested in health to: adult nursing, pediatric nursing, mental health nursing, midwifery, audiology, radiography, paramedics, speech therapy, podiatry etc.
Those interested in social work/social care: social work, youth work, criminology, social policy, community studies, psychology, social sciences, ODP, Clinical Physiology, etc.
Many students however do gain employment from this programme for example social work assistant health care support worker, youth worker etc.
With the demands of this Level 3 programme and the need to achieve, students are expected to complete successfully the pre access programme which is available from January until May of the academic year, however if this is not possible arrangements for an in-class assessment can be made to enable the student to gain a place. Students for the evening part time provision must be able to word process, use email and have access to broadband, this is essential as all students are expected to fully utilise e-books and moodle to support their part time fast track education.

Course programme
The course is assessed using examinations, essays, presentations, seminars, reports and in class timed assessments. Students are expected to have work placements, 250 hours approx for those wishing to apply for social work, and 30 hours approx for those who wish to apply for all branches of nursing/radiography/physiotherapy/audiology/speech therapy etc.
The course is delivered using lectures, guest speakers, clinical demonstrations/observations as well as informal question and answer sessions to support students with their progress. The part time course has eight hours a week of study over two evenings, four hours per evening half hour of each evening is given to tutorial time to support learners in UCAS application, interview techniques and pastoral care.
