This course provides you with a professional qualification and a deeper understanding of accountancy.
This course can be studied with other qualifications or as part of the Accountacy Academy. Study units include:
Maintaining financial records and preparing accounts - This unit relates to the maintenance of accounts from an initial trial balance through to the preparation of final profit and loss accounts and balance sheets for sole traders and partnerships. It also looks very deeply at the area of depreciation and incomplete records.
Recording cost information - This unit is concerned with how organisations record, analyse and report current and future costs and revenues. It looks at direct and indirect costs, overheads, cost behaviour and short and long term decision making.
Preparing reports and returns - This unit relates to the preparation of reports and returns from information obtained from all relevant sources. It looks very closely at VAT and its rules and regulations, performance indicators and the preparation of budgets with regard to future time variations.
Using IT - This unit demonstrates your ability to safely use a computerised system and the storage of confidential data. We offer at NVQ3 an extensive spreadsheet unit.
Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and productive working environment - This unit is about monitoring your working environment and making sure it meets requirements for health, safety, security and effective working conditions. It is assessed by a project.
