This course is for learners who have successfully completed a Level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy wishing to develop their knowledge and skills further.

Course Content:

Key Skills:
Wider key skills are included within the course framework. ICT skills are developed further with coursework.

Work Experience / Practical Experience:
Work experience is a key component of the course. All students are required to undertake work experience within the beauty therapy sector one day per week.

Kit/Uniform:
A uniform is compulsory for this course in accordance with the industry codes of practice. The college dress code for this course is white tunic and trousers and flat white enclosed shoes. Kit fees: 150 (Approx) Uniform fees: 50 (Approx)

Entry Requirements:

• A recognised level 2 qualification in beauty therapy
• A good standard of general education
• A good work history
• A key skills qualification
• A successful personal interview with the course leader

Entry Process:
Applicants will be invited to an interview with the tutor, allowing you to find out more and check that the course is the best option for you. Interviews normally take place between January and September of the year in which the course starts.

Assessment:
Students are assessed through the following methods:

• Online testing
• Written testing
• Assignments and case studies
• Practical assessments for each unit


Progression Routes:
Students may consider progression to the full time City & Guilds Complementary Therapies Diploma or one of the part time evening courses for Complementary Therapies (VTCT).

Career Options:
Successful students will be equipped with the skills for employment within the Beauty Therapy industry, in settings such as clinics, cruise liners, health spas, hotels and fitness and leisure providers.
