Course description
The course will cover the following topics:
• Health and safety
• Developing working relationships
• Preparing the Beauty Therapy work area
• Assist with facial skin care treatments
• Assist with nail services
You will also gain certificates in:
• Key Skills Level 1 Communication
• New CLAIT Certificate â€" Level 1
• BTEC Award in Work Skills
During the course you will also be provided with the opportunity to attend the following:
• BBC Clothes Show Live
• Excel Beauty Exhibition â€" London
• Industrial work placement visits
You are required to purchase a number of items of clothing and equipment to take this course, which will be discussed at your interview. Financial help is available if needed. Please ask staff in the Hub for further details.

Final award
NVQ in Beauty Therapy at Level 1

Entry requirements
School records should demonstrate 80% attendance. You will also need a good general education including GCSE grades D-G. You should be aged 16 or over, show enthusiasm for the subject and have the ability to get on well with people.
