This 1-year course provides the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary for you to work as a Beauty Practitioner or to progress to NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy. Alongside this course, you will also study the Welsh Baccalaureate, which is equivalent to 1 A level. Due to the structure of this course, on completion you will leave the College with 2 qualifications, greatly enhancing your future opportunities.

Entry requirements
You must be committed to achieving your NVQ and have 3 GCSEs at grade C or above. In addition you will be invited to attend an interview.

What will I study?
You will study a range of Beauty Therapy skills, including: Skin Care & Facial Massage; Make-up; Manicure & Pedicure; Waxing; General Health & Safety; Employment Standards; Customer Care and Reception Work. For the Welsh Baccalaureate you will explore a wide range of areas including how Wales ?fits in? with Europe and the rest of the world, the health of the nation and how to be enterprising.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is continuous, through observation of your practical work, completion of a portfolio, theoretical evidence and assignments.

Career Opportunities & Progression
After successfully completing this programme you will be able to progress to NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy or seek employment within the sector.
