Course Content

This course aims to prepare you for a career in ICT and will provide you with the necessary skills, flexibility, knowledge and motivation to progress onto further studies. You find out about the tools and techniques used for working with information and will develop confidence in using ICT. In addition, you are given the opportunity to analyse information needs in different contexts.

• Mobile communication technologies
• Networking essentials
• Software development
• Spreadsheet software
• Using ICT to present information
• Website development.

You may be required to continue to study English or maths as part of your course.

Progression

On successful completion this qualification can lead directly to work as an IT Practitioner in various fields such as user support, customer services, data entry, hardware testing and production. Alternatively, you could progress onto the BTEC National Diploma/Certificate for IT Practitioners or other non-computing oriented National Diplomas.
