This 1-year course offers you the opportunity to study the theoretical and practical aspects of applied science. The course provides a broad base for students wishing to study science and prepare for a future National Award, National Certificate or National Diploma qualification. Alongside this course you will also study the Welsh Baccalaureate, which is equivalent to 1 A level. Due to the structure of this course, on completion you will leave the College with 2 qualifications equivalent to 3 A-Levels, greatly enhancing your future opportunities.

What will I study?
You will study 6 BTEC units/modules, these will include: Scientific Technician at Work; Scientific Principles; the Science Workplace; Applications of Chemistry; Physical Sciences and Anatomy & Physiology. For the Welsh Baccalaureate you will explore a wide range of areas including how Wales ?fits in? with Europe and the rest of the world, the health of the nation and how to be enterprising.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed in all units by completing set assignment work, laboratory reports and the completion of an Integrated Vocational Assignment (IVA).
