Course description
The BTEC First Diploma supplies the underpinning knowledge and development of practical skills relevant to the music industry and provides a suitable qualification for progression onto a range of further studies including National Diploma courses.
You will:
• Develop a general knowledge of the music industry
• Develop skills in sound recording and computer-based MIDI recording
• Develop skills in music production
• Develop an understanding of music
• Plan and produce a CD and a promotional gig
This course is also ideal for students who are interested in the music industry but need an extra year to improve their abilities before starting the National Diploma course. Students will also complete the NCFE Certificate in Radio Production.

Final award
Edexcel (BTEC) First Diploma in Music.

Entry requirements
Successful completion of a secondary education and you will need to show the potential to complete and benefit from the course. It is necessary to have two GCSEs at grade D or above.

This course is offered at our Witney Campus only.
