PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
This course is ideal for those students who need to build on their basic skills and learn more about Business, Retail and Administration before going on to study FE Level 2 qualfications.

The course is made up of eight units, three core units, plus five other optional units.

Basic Skills are integral to students achieving this course. Through their study of Literacy students will learn how to complete their assignments up to the level required by their current course as well as meet the needs of future employers.

In addition to studying Basic Skills the subjects covered are:

Starting Work in Business;
Working in Business;
Communicating Effectively at Work;
Financial Management;
Introducing Customer Service;
Introduction to Administration;
Introduction to Retail; and
Personal Effectiveness.
PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
85% of the achieving students from the Introductory Diploma Business choose to come back to do the First Diploma Business or similar courses at Croydon College.

The other major progression route is to enter the workplace in a position that includes training.
