TOTAL FEE The 2009/10 full-time further education fees for UK and EU residents were and have been included for guidance only: Free to those aged 16 - 18 on 31 August 2009, who are starting a new course in September 2009. 230 to those aged 19 or over on 31 August 2009, who are current students and continuing onto the second year of their course, which they started in September 2008. 380 for those aged 19 or over on 31 August 2009 and who are starting a new course in September 2009.

Applicants may have studied at GCSE level, ESOL Skills for Life Entry 3, or Skills for Working Life Entry 3.
Applicants will also have interviewed successfully for the course.
Applicants will need to pass an ESOL initial assessment at interview.
All applicants have to provide a positive educational reference stating their suitability for this course, as well giving information on behaviour, punctuality and attendance on their previous course (For example, if an applicant cannot provide evidence of attendance of 80% or over on the preceding course they may not be allowed to enrol on this course).
PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
This course is ideal for those students who need to build on their basic skills and learn more about Information Technology before going on to study FE Level 2 qualfications.
The course is made up of eight units, three core units, plus five other optional units.
ESOL is integral to students achieving this course. Through their study of ESOL students will learn how to complete their assignments up to the level required by their current course as well as meet the needs of future employers.

PC Systems;
Developing IT Skills;
Working in IT Industry;
Starting Work in IT;
Financial Management;
IT Applications; and
Personal Effectiveness.
PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
This course gives achieving students from the Introductory Diploma IT Work the opportunity to choose to come back to do the First Diploma IT or similar courses at Croydon College.
The other major progression route is to enter the workplace in a position that includes training.
