Course Description:

To prepare students for a career in art and design, suitable both for those who have a clear career path in mind and those who want to explore the many possibilities within art and design. Content - Lincoln Students explore visual language and creative processes through a series of projects that develop drawing, thinking, and practical skills in both 2-dimensions and 3 dimensions. Specialist workshops and facilities enable students to explore a wide range of subjects such as drawing, painting, illustration, printmaking, photography, Photoshop, textiles, fashion design, 3D design and ceramics. This broad approach allows the student to make informed decisions about progression and future careers within the field of Art & Design. Research and contextual studies underpin the understanding of contemporary and historical developments in art and design; gallery visits and a residential visit in year 2 support this area of study. We teach students how to plan a project and organise time; to work independently and meet deadlines, we provide opportunities to exhibit work and build exciting portfolios.
