This is a practical, work related course. Students learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. Students focus on a particular subject area and develop a range of specialist skills and knowledge. Assignments are usually internally set and assessed - there are no external examinations on this course. Students will be given the opportunity to go on field trips and visits. Previous visits have included Alton Towers, London, Cadbury World and Disneyland Paris.

What will I be studying?
You will study units on: Exploring Business Activity; Investigating Business Resources;Introduction to Marketing;Effective People; Communication and Information; Introduction to Accounting; Management Accounting; Creative Product Promotion; Human Resource Management; Event Management; Retailing; International Business.

Key Skills: Communication; Application of Number; Information Technology; Working with Others; Improving Own Learning; Problem Solving; Welsh for Business.

Units from this course may be combined with a BTEC National Award in Travel and Tourism.

What can I do when I have successfully completed the programme?
The qualification is equivalent to 2 A Level passes. This qualification can enable you to go on to Higher Education at Degree or HND Level. It can also prepare you for a range of jobs in the public and voluntary sectors such as Accountancy, Financial Services, Sales and Marketing, Personnel, Retailing, Public Administration, Manufacturing and Production, the Police Force, Administration, Trainee Management or Self Employment.
