Course description
This National Diploma course is equivalent to three A Levels and gives you experience of all aspects of music technology and production through a programme of classes, workshops and seminars using industry standard music and sound equipment. You will:
• Develop skills in the areas of music theory, harmony, publishing, arranging and listening
• Study computer technology in music production including midi and audio recording
• Develop skills in sound reproduction in both the recording and live arenas
• Learn about composing and editing music for multimedia productions and film
• Study the music industry, and event management.
• Complete an NCFE Certificate in Radio Production
This course, with its emphasis on practical work, requires a large amount of teamwork and is assessed through coursework.

Entry requirements
You must be able to satisfy ONE of the following requirements in addition to a successful interview:
• Hold four GCSEs at grade C or above
Or
• Hold a relevant Intermediate GNVQ or First Diploma (e.g. music, media and performing arts) at merit level or above
Or
• Be over 19 years of age and be able to demonstrate experience.
Students who have an interest in a career in the music industry but with no previous experience are encouraged to consider the First Diploma course before starting the
National Diploma.
It is desirable that students starting the course have some experience in performance, such as instrumentalist, vocalist, DJ or MC.

This course is offered at our Witney Campus only.
*Students aged 16-18 will not be required to pay the full course fee, in most cases your fee will not exceed £150. Please contact us if you need more information regarding fees for full-time courses.
