Description of course:
The National Diploma contains the core elements of the national certificate course plus an additional 3 specialist units per year to reflect the increased weight of qualification. The specialist units studied allow learners to develop the understanding they gain from the core units and develop it towards specific areas of the Uniformed Public Services. Topics covered on this course include command & control, international relations and management of major incidents. Learners will be introduced to all of the Public Services and will meet operational members from many of the Uniformed Public Services. They will also undertake a number of different enrichment activities related to the work of the services during their time on the course.

Progression opportunities and careers:
After completion of this course you may continue with your education and study for a degree in many subjects such as: criminology, Ssciology, public services and forensic science. Or you may choose to apply for a Public Services career after leaving college.

Entry requirements:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above or a merit/distinction grade at a Level 2 vocational course.

Additional qualifications studied:
All full time students will undertake a combination of additional qualifications that will enhance their study skills and those skills that will be important in employment.
