Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.

About the course:
The course is equivalent to 3 A Levels. Some Units are compulsory and others have been selected to give students a broad course which is relevant to the widest career opportunities.

Unit 3: Citizenship, Contemporary Society and the Public Services
Unit 4: Team Development in the Public Services
Unit 5: Understanding Discipline within the Public Services
Unit 6: Diversity and the Public Services

Physical Preparation and Fitness for the Uniformed Services
Crime and its Effects on Society
Understanding the Criminal Justice System and Police Powers
Understanding Behaviour in Public Sector Employment
Understanding Aspects of the Legal System and Law Making Process

Assessment:
Students will be expected to study 18 Units over two years. There are no formal exams; however, there will be continuous assessment by a variety of methods. The examining body is Edexcel.

After the course:
Progression onto an HND or degree course; alternatively the course is designed to prepare you for a career in a range of public services, for example:
Police, ambulance and fire services
Armed forces
Prison and security services
Local and central government such as Customs and Excise
