If you are interested in gaining new skills, or updating your present skills before returning to work, you are welcome to apply.

How do I attend?
At present it is planned to offer the course on a full time basis over 36 weeks, but it may be possible to attend on a part time basis over a longer term basis. The course may be based in The NHC Thurso and Wick Centres, or a combination of the two, depending on student numbers. It may also be based in The NHC-Dornoch.

What will I study?
The course aims to provide skills, knowledge and understanding which relate to administration and IT in a range of business situations. The units are offered at Intermediate 2 level and may allow the student to follow an admin/business course, including basic accounts and economics, or an admin/computing course including computer hardware and systems.

Also included is intensive hands-on experience of computer software packages.

What could I do next?
There could be employment opportunities available in a wide range of posts in administration, insurance, building societies and call centres. It is an ideal preparation for entry to the range of HNC, HND and BA courses available.

Note that this course, if studied on a part time basis has been approved by ILA Scotland and it is therefore possible to use a current Individual Learning Account (ILA200) to help offset the cost of the course. Individual units which count towards the award are also approved and an ILA may be used to help with these if studied on an individual basis
