Business Studies A Level (Level 3)
Course content
This course aims to develop an enthusiam for studying business from a range of perspectives. The behaviour of a wide variety of organisations will be investigated in terms of their ability to meet society's needs and wants and also the ethical dilemmas and responsibilities they face.
Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to generate enterprising and creative solutions to business problems and issues including:

• The Business Framework;
• Business functions;
• Business decision making;
• Business strategy and planning.

The course focuses on organisations in different business sectors and environments. These organisations include those that are: large and small; local, regional national and multi-national and operate for profit and not for profit.

Teaching/Assessment
The course is designed to help students take problem-solving approach to Business Studies and develop a critical understanding of organisations, the markets they serve and environments in which they operate.
Students will be assessed throughout the year by the lecturer along with final external examiniations at the end of the year.


No previous knowledge of this subject is necessary, however Grade C or above in Maths and English are desirable.
Students will be expected to be familiar with issues in business and management related probelms which are of current interest and importance in the domestic and international context.

Progression
Students can progress onto Higher Education (degrees) or Employment
