CACHE QCF Level 2 Certificate for the Childrens and Young Peoples Workforce (CCYPW)

Course Description:

The Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce is for learners who wish to work in the Children and Young Peoples Workforce. This qualification will be the only Level 2 QCF qualification that will confer occupational competence for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce. This course is for those with little or no experience in working with children, and is a stepping stone that will allow you to progress onto a Level 3 child care qualification. You will also complete a First Aid qualification as well as qualifications in English and Maths. You will need to be in a work experience placement for 2 days every week.

The qualification is composed of mandatory and optional units and these units are knowledge-based (assessed by assignment), skills/competency-based (assessed within the workplace) or a combination of both.

• 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above to include English Language and Maths
• An excellent academic reference from school, work experience and a good attendance report
• Successful interview to include a written interview task
• Pass in CACHE Certificate in Caring for Children with demonstrable ability to work at Level 1 English, excellent tutor references and attendance
• A clear Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
