Course Description: The aim of this programme is to allow candidates to extend knowledge and skills developed at Level 1. Candidates continue to learn, develop and practice a wider range of skills that are required for employment and/or career progression within the Automotive Sector.

The following modules are covered:
  • Contribute to Workplace Good Housekeeping.
  • Ensure Your Own Actions Reduce Risks to Health and Safety.
  • Maintain Positive Working Relationships.
  • Carry Out Routine Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Remove and Replace Vehicle Auxiliary Electrical Units and Components.
  • Remove and Replace Vehicle Chassis Units and Components.
  • Remove and Replace Vehicle Transmission and Driveline Units and Components.
  • Conduct Per and Post Work Vehicle Inspections.

Full-time candidates will also study essential Key Skills as required by industry.

Entry Requirements:
  • Level 1 in Award in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair for those students that have made good academic progress and demonstrated excellent attendance and motivation at Level 1, or 3 CGSE'S grade C to A or equivalent qualifications are necessary.
  • All applicants will undertake an interview and aptitude test to determine their suitability to this course.
  • All applicants must possess enthusiasm and commitment to obtain a career in motor vehicle industry.
  • The ability to read and interpret written tasks and to write answers in a legible and understandable form will be necessary.
