Course Summary:
This course is for you if you have low GCSE or literacy and numeracy grades and have not yet decided which area of construction you would like to study. The programme focuses on practical work and trying different construction skills.

Course Details:
The full time course covers the specialist areas of Painting and Decorating, Construction and Carpentry. You will also study the core unit of Preparing for Work. Assessment is by a variety of methods including photographic, video, written work, group discussion, 1:1 discussion, role play and observed evidence. Assessment is not carried out at specific intervals but when the learner is ready and both assessor and learner agree a time. There may also be an opportunity to try out other specialist skills throughout the course. #

Career Progression:
Successful learners may progress onto a Foundation Construction award in a chosen construction area or into employment.

Other Information:
Students are required to provide steel toe-capped boots and overalls for practical work.
