EDEXCEL (BTEC) National Diploma in Art and Design (Textile Design)

Course Details

The first year is broad based designed to develop a wide range of practical art and design skills, including drawing, mixed media, print, embroidery, knit, weave and feltmaking. Students have the opportunity to work towards live projects and competition briefs and will design for a range of outcomes including textiles for fashion, interiors, accessories, illustration , art and giftwrap. Key skills are integrated into the course and students will pursue an AS/A2 Art and Design qualification alongside the main course.

Qualifications required:
3 GCSEs Grade A-C or First Diploma in Art and Design plus a portfolio of art and/or design work. Mature students without formal qualifications are welcome to apply.

Progression:
Progression to an HND, Foundation Degree or BA Honours programme in a specialist textiles area. Hull School of Art and Design provides many of these options for progression or you can apply to another University or College.
