Geography - AS & A Level

You will study the following topics:
Physical Environments;
▪ earthquakes and volcanoes;
▪ rivers and floodplains;
▪ small ecosystems.
Human Environments:
▪ global dynamic populations;
▪ aspects of rural change;
▪ changing urban environments.
Investigative Geography:
▪ Fieldwork report.
Will I have to sit any examinations?
Year 1:
GG1 1.25 hours;
GG2 - 1.25 hours;
GG3- Fieldwork report
Year 2:
GG4 1.5 hours
GG5 2.5 hours [excluding hour reading time]
GG6 Personal study.
What will I have at the end of the course?
You will be awarded an AS certificate in Geography. You will also be able to study the subject for another year and gain an A level certificate.
What next?
Geography develops a wide range of transferable skills together with positive attitudes and values, leading to higher education and a range of careers including environmental management, finance administration, marketing, earth sciences, etc.
