About this course

Students will need to have good reading and writing skills and a willingness to work for two years.

4 GCSEs at C Grade or above are required. Ideally one or more of these would be Maths, English or Science. Alternatively students may access the course with good grades from GNVQ Health & Social Care or BTEC 1st Diploma in Health and Social Care. They will need to be reliable, honest, trustworthy and have a genuine interest in people.

This two-year course is designed to prepare students to work in health or care-related careers in a professional capacity.
The course examines a range of health and social care issues.

Progression
The course is designed to prepare students to work in health related careers, in a professional capacity.
It provides an education in health studies/sciences which is a basis for progression to higher education e.g. Degree in Nursing/Midwifery, Health related degrees or HND in Health / Social Care.
Additional Information
Students on this course will be charged for a Criminal Records Bureau [CRB] check. The current cost is £36. Students can apply to the Financial Contingency Fund [FCF] to cover the cost of a CRB check.
