  • Inspect and replace light vehicle suspension dampers
  • Inspect, adjust and replace light vehicle braking systems and components
Assessment/Exams
The course is assessed via a combination of examination and continuous assessment.
  • Practical assessment workshop tasks measure competence, which is the ability to complete a vehicle related task to a satisfactory standard
  • Online examinations that assess underpinning knowledge, the theory of each vehicle system and its related studies
  • Phase testing, which are short term time tests (coursework) to ensure one subject is understood before moving to the next topic
Progression/Career Path
Typically, successful leavers will either continue with their studies to obtain a Level 3 VRQ (Vocationally Related Qualification) or go directly into work and train through Work Based Learning to obtain their Level 3 technical status.
Please note that for progression to Level 3, it will be necessary to successfully complete Functional Skills at Level 2 in Application of Number and Communications.
